Ezigrade (version 2)
Displaying and Checking Data

Displaying Data:

Important:

The desktop version of Ezigrade requires a wheel mouse to operate. ie You have a left button, right button and a middle wheel.3 button mouse. There are also icons for Zoom Extents, as well as Zoom Window.

If you are running on a tablet then a finger pan and two finger zoom also work.

When job first display's it is displayed full screen. To zoom the display simply move the middle wheel forward or backward to change the amount of zoom or scale of the display. Ezigrade also supports dynamic pan. Simply hold down the middle wheel/button and drag the mouse - the display will move with you. You need to use a combination of dynamic pan and zoom to show you the display you require.

You can change what is displayed on the screen from the View menu. Simply tick or untick the appropriate attributes to display.

Triangulating and Contouring the Data:

Ezigrade needs a triangulated surface. Once data is displayed you will need to create a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) to represent the data. This is done in an identical manner to what you do in CDS. From the "Contour" menu select "Surface Parameters" and fill in accordingly. Please refer to the CDS manual for help as the process is identical to that done in CDS. The "Surface Area" defaults to the whole job at preset. Then run the "Form Model" option.

Once model is OK you can create some contours. Ezigrade does not use the contours in any way but I suggest that you form them as a visual check on the data and to also help in the layout of the fields later on.

At present I would suggest that you create the triangulated surface as surface in CDS. This allows you to edit the model which is not yet supported in Ezigrade. Also Ezigrade does not yet support break-lines and boundaries which are supported in Ezigrade.
